HSB SUMMER LEAGUE
F A Q's

How do you make a team?
Players who are 13/14/15 years old register to play.
THE COACHES DRAFT ALL THE PLAYERS WHO REGISTERED. THERE ARE "NO CUTS".
Depending on the number of coaches who volunteer, HSB tries to limit the rosters to 14-15 players in the summer. Register early to ensure a player is rostered.

How do I register?
Visit the HSB web site at http://www.haverhillseniorbaseball.com to download a registration form. (SEE ABOVE). Or call Larry O'Brien (978)373-6982 or John Trask (978)374-0735 to get a registration form mailed to you.

What are the age levels of the 2009 Summer League Players?
13 Year-Old Only Division - open to players born from *8/1/95 - 7/31/96
14-15 Year Old Division - open to players born from *8/1/93 - 7/31/95

When and where do you practice?
Practices are scheduled around regular season games and are conducted at Swasey Field on Blaisdell Street, the JV Field at Riverside behind Haverhill Stadium or on any open field we can find in Haverhill.

When does the season start and end?
The summer regular season schedule begins June 8th and concludes on August 1st.

Who makes the playoffs and when are they held?
Historically, the top 3 or 4 teams in each division have made the playoffs, and participate in a best two-of-three format. Playoffs will begin August 3rd and usually finish in a week or ten days.

What size field are games played on?
All games are played on a regulation baseball diamond, the same size used by high schools, colleges and MLB. Base paths measure 90' and pitchers throw from a regulation distance 60'6" mound.

Where are games played?
Most of the 13 year-old games are played at Swasey Field on Blaisdell Street (near All Saints Church). Most of the 14/15 year-old games are played on the JV Field at Riverside (directly in back of Haverhill Stadium).

Where are "away" games played?
Haverhill teams play against teams from Amesbury, Boxford, Georgetown, Haverhill, Middleton, Newburyport, North Andover, Pentucket, Seabrook, Timberlane, Topsfield and Triton.

When are games played?
Most teams will play two or three times a week including an occasional weekend. Weekday games start at 5:45pm. All games are 7 innings, (daylight and weather permitting).

Are there any special rules?
In previous years, the Intertown Babe Ruth League has required that each player play a minimum of 6 defensive outs and get one at bat.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact
Larry O'Brien (978) 373-6982 or John Trask (978) 374-0735.
